Meet the Baker
Hi love! My name is Angela Gallo,
I am a self-taught baker currently residing in Minnesota. I specialize with macarons and chocolate. I started baking out of homesickness. I moved to Minnesota in 2019 all the way from Aguascalientes, México. My mom used to make chocolates as a side gig when I was little, so I grew up watching her do candies and sugar shapes for tea stores.
I bought some molds and got to make some cocoa bombs. I also wanted to learn how to bake macarons, so I got an easy enough, or so I thought, recipe for macarons and next thing I know a friend of my husband got me into a craft fair. I had to create a business in 4 weeks! My husband was the best support during my shenanigans. He would think of ideas for candies and I would have to figure out how to make them. I was like the Mexican version of Willy Wonka.
Creating Apapacho (ah-pah-pah-choh) has allowed me to be as creative as I want; trying new flavors, colors and designs! I bake from home, so I get to work at the local church on the after-school program and youth group with kids from the neighborhood. I am so incredibly lucky to be able to do both jobs. The church was the first job I got when I moved to Minnesota, so I have a special place for them in my heart.
